I am pulling my motor this week and was wondering the easiest way to disconnect the throttle and shifter cable from my 2001 225hp Optimax. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks guys!

On the LEFT or PORT side of the engine, you'll see the throttle and shift cables.
Remove the nut and plastic washer that retains the eyelet for each cable to the engine.
Flip the "ball adjuster" retaining bracket to disengage the bracket, and allow the cables to be removed.
Remove the rigging tube fitting, so as to allow the cables to be pulled out of the cowling.
Good idea to temporarily re-install the nylon washers and nuts "finger tight" so as not to lose them.....
