What is the best high performace gear lube for the 250 ProXS motors? I ahve heard of royal purple and other synthetic brands increasing speed... Is this true? Any data out there to back it up? I use high dollar synthetics in my race car but that is a little different... Any comments woudl be appreciated... Thanks
Use Mercury or Quicksilver High Performance gear lube. As far as i know, it is synthetic.
The ones that claim you'll gain speed are very low viscosity. They aren't made for bass boats, they are made for race (drag) boats where the gear lube is changed after EACH race.
Stay away from the thin racing lube in your l/u.
Mercury High Performance Gear Lube (or Quicksilver High Performance Gear Lube)... same product.
Both are indeed Synthetic, and provide EXCELLENT protection for your gearcase.
