    NORFORK LAKE HELP

    HI ALL,
I'm looking for some help on what equipment to bring for a fishing trip to Lake Norfork for the first week of September. We will be in the Mountian Home area.

    Fishing mostly for bass

I have room for 6 rods and have baitcaster and spinning rods 6'6" to 7' with action med to mh.
also any other help on line, lures and plastic baits would be great

    Thanks
    First time to Lake Norfork

It depends on if your going after the brown fish or the green fish.

If going for brownies, I've done well in the past on lite carolina/split shot rigs fished on main lake points, as well as hula grubs on 1/4oz standup jigheads fished on chunk rock banks located near channel swings. Your likely to catch several Walleye doing this as well. Early in the morning you can really sack'em up on a Yellow Magic/Rico/Splash-it fished around the mouths of Panther Bay, Buzzard's Roost or any other creek arm located around mid-lake.

If you want to go after the bigger blacks, head up the river towards/into Missouri and chuck a spinnerbait or squarebill on the muddy flats.

Fishing is generally tough in September.Move around a lot, pick off one fish here and another there. If the fish are schooled up it is generally on the main lake but the bite is very specific.Look for early top water bite then I like to throw a Texas rig Watermelon red Baby Brush hog.If that doesn't work I fish the Channel swings with a 1/2oz football jig.Another option is to run up the river arms to the stained water and throw Crankbaits and spinnerbait. If the wind is out of the north in early Sept stay home.
