Went to Pine Bluff last nite and fished Razorback Marine's Wendesday tournament out of the harbor. My partner and I caught 11 keepers in the first hour and they were eating my top water lure so well I actually stabbed my best two fish in the gills. We were able to revive one, but there wasnt much hope for one. So not knowing the rules of there tournament I kept a extra keeper in the live well just in case the penalty was huge. While fishing around dark we broke the back running light so we headed in. When we got to the ramp there was one of the two tournament directors. (the other one fished) So I asked was there a penalty for dead fish and he said yeah a quarter pound so we weighed the two fish and the dead fish weighed a half pound more. So that was a no brainer as I put the fish in the bag and carried them to the scale my partner went and realesd the fish that was alive he met me at the scales about the time the other director said you cant weigh dead fish. 10pds and some change won we got second with 9 and some change but they went on and weighed the dead one too and it put us almst at 12 pds. I had just released a 16 inch black that was alive. Talk a bout a kick in the groin!!!!!!!! Just kinda wondering what yall would have done. The guys did a great job handling it the gave us $90 and since first got 180 they said they would make it up at the bait shop and that was good enuf. But just wondering how you would have handled it.
