Deep Clear Resivoirs, Oxbows, Rivers... We have a unique state in that any type of water short of coastal inshore, you can put a boat on..What is everyone's preference?? I would have to say mine would be the river systems of the state..

I wuz thinking that I prefer the wet kind...........![]()
I like lakes. I am close to the Oklahoma border, and do a lot of my fishing there. Tenkiller Ferry, Grand Lake O' the Cherokees, Eufaula, Kerr (which is an Arkansas River pool), and a bunch of smaller lakes.
I prefer the deep, clear water lakes. I am a sucker for brown fish........![]()
The Fort Smith pool of the Arkansas River is OK, but the water level might vary a couple of feet in any given day, depending on what the Corps of Engineers does. We got my brother's Bass Cat Jaguar stuck back in a creek off the river during a tourney one year. Had enough water to get back in the creek, but the two hours we spent there was about an hour too long. The Corps dropped the water level about two feet during that time. We were far enough back in the creek we did not notice it. Had to push a 20' glass boat over a rock shoal to get out. I am very glad it was his boat and not mine. I can still hear fiberglass on rocks.........![]()

I prefer clear fast rivers ( that's where the brown fish live ) 2nd choice would be a deep clear reservoir (another place where the brown fish live)![]()

I am too good for nothing![]()
When I said I prefer river systems, that did leave a pretty broad range of places. There are times when the Arkansas is my favorite place in the world, but then I can make a trip to the Buffalo, or the Upper White, or even the Little Red and love it just as much..

I prefer to fish the lakes around here in central arkansas...mainly because they are all I fish...Pretty much stick to the three created by the Ouachita river...catherine, hamilton, and ouachita. Also spend a lot one degray but now that the grass is gone, I haven't quite done as well as before.
I also love fishing some of the small rivers around here like the Saline and the Fourche. Both and nice to float and are full of good fish where we go.
I get to fish Greers and Dardenelle for the first times this year in the BFLs so we'll see how that goes.
I grew up fishing large reservoirs with stained water (Mississippi reservoirs), but have since had to adapt to the water clarity of Ouachita, DeGray and Hamilton. I still would rather fish Dardanelle or any other pool of the river because of the clarity issue.
Without a doubt Greers is my favorite lake love the crystal clear water and in spring time is a awesome place . Heck I love it in the fall when hybrids start getting active also
I've never been skydiving, but I have zoomed-in on Google Earth really fast.
I prefer fishing slow moving rivers. Saline is fun. Hope to fish the White, Little Red and Buffalo this year. Learning all of Arkansas' rivers.
Welcome aboard, Mitch!![]()
