I think that is a personal choice but if done right they could be an added benefit.
If the water you fish all the time is very stained they might no help to much..

Ever come in @ Dusk or Dark They are awesome, If you fish tournaments they are great for prefishing check-in, switch them on and the checker can look in easy, I haven't found a negative for having them!

Re: livewell lights or no livewell lights (TJ20xd)

I fish night tournaments alot and they are a must for me... I had the standard bullet incadecent bulb models, they burned out fast. Bullet sent me the new LED models and they burned out as the bulbs they use are voltage sensitive. While the motor is running my batts reach 14.5 volts and killed those...

So I went with Blue Waters white LED strips and could not be happier. I could see the water line in the well, Made sure 3-4 lights were above the water line and the rest below. I used the small hole near the top where the old screws held on my spray bar for the wires to enter the bilge. Caulked/sealed closed and all has been well for years. I can see above and below the water.

    Before.... and After.

    Awesome lights Mike.

I would put them in. Must have if you ever fish night tournaments.

Re: livewell lights or no livewell lights (2500)

The lights are a must for me.. In some of the tournaments the boats are on the water to be checked well before daylight and the lights are really helpful when showing the officials that the livewells work... I have had zero problems with the original Bullet livewell lights in my 2002 21 XDC but if they burn out I would replace them with the same setup that Mr. Lohn has on his..
