    bullet thoughts...1990 model

I am boatless now, thinking of jumping back in CHEAP and only cheap. I found a 1990 bullet on ebay and who knows, I can probably pick it up for 2000 tops, if not less. it is solid, motor has good compression, new LU that I will need to put back on and wire it all up. looks pretty clean, needs new carpet, of course to be expected for a cheap boat, trailer looks great.

whats your thoughts on this? money pit or a pretty good idea? thanks

If your good with your hands and can work on a boat yourself id say go for it as a project...but if your looking to try and get it in the water soon id say save your 2 grand until u get another 3 grand or so for something that is ready to fish. That boat looks to me like its atleast another 3 grand till its ready for the water and thats without any setbacks. Just my opinion!

I wouldn't back away that fast. I had a 17 ft before and recleared it and recarpeted it and it wasn't that bad. If it were closer to me I'd take a chance myself. The one think I would do would be to sell that power head and look for a motor that may be a little more reliable.

Those little 17's were some fun boats. I really wish I still had mine.

I don't like the looks of the picture with the wet rusty colored water on the bottom of the back compartment that has the shifter and cable in it. Also the stain running down the drain hole in back.

Discoloration runs up the sides which means it has been holding water.. Not a good scenario!!!
