What's it worth?

Hey.
I bought a 1989 20V that was in pretty bad shape last fall, I pulled the top cap and replaced the floor stringers, floor and transom and battery boxes over the winter. New carpet on the floor and compartment lids, new wiring from where the previous owners had spliced and taped the wires together over the years, and all the usual fixes associated with this type of restoration. We have a new baby on the way and she will be here in mid November so the boat is on the middle burner as of now. I got the top cap back on and I am in the process of getting the paint work done. It has a 1989 225 looper on it with a 12" super jack jack plate, 23p renegade prop and I am putting am 898 HB on it, teleflex dual cable steering, teleflex blinker trim switch. The motor has good compression and runs out good. Just trying to get an idea what its worth before I spend too much on repainting the entire boat. I still have to replace seats as well. It's black on black with the alpha jewel glitter in the stripes with the gun metal carpet and seats if that matters. Just don't want to price myself out of selling down the road when I am able to upgrade. Thanks in advance.

I would guess 6-7K without seeing it. That is after it is complete and looking good.

Thanks, that's was about the range I was thinking or hoping for. I bought this boat out of repo from a finance company, I am probably gonna have nearly that much in it by the time I figure my hours and materials. I got a local boat manufacturer friends who builds ocean going boats and he said I would be better off selling the motor and trailer. He said the boat wasn't worth fixing. He said if someone else brought it in he would charge them 100 bucks to get rid of it. LOL. I pulled the top cap and did all that work to hear that. Hell, I had it in the water running it last fall before I started the restoration. The paint is scratched up a bit, but I have seen a lot worse on newer boats. The hull is in good shape, it's just the top cap that needs the most attention on the paint side of things. I am just wanting to get it fixed and in the water to run it in the next month or so and fish out of it some before winter and then I can finish the restore this winter. Do the Bullets hold their value better than the cookie cutter boats on average? I was looking for on last fall and saw a few in worse shape cosmetically than the one I bought for a lot more money.
