    225 Pro XS missing

My motor serial#1B379905-2006 model, I have never changed the fuel filter on my rig and also it has a 50 gal. tank that I filled up when i first bought it. The thing of it is, I have never ran it below a 1/4 of a tank without re-fueling. I was just wondering if i always top it off every trip, if I don't use but maybe a 1/4 of a tank the last trip, if by just adding fuel to the fuel that is in the tank, do i need to empty the tank and start with totally fresh fuel. Remember it a 50 gal tank not cheap. I have a fear of running out of fuel, because those gauges are not totally accurate. Also do I need to change the filter, it is app. 4 years old. I think I know the answer to that one.

You should change the filter and it is probably time for plugs if you have never done so. Mine was doing the same thing and a new set of plugs and a new fuel filter fixed me right up. No more miss. I keep my fuel treated all year long with marine stabil and quickcleen. I also switched to 89 Octane.

The miss I had was a slow speed miss. Boat ran fine other than that.

As long as you're USING the boat regularly, and topping off the fuel each trip (with appropriate fuel stabilizer and quickleen added).... you SHOULD be fine. Mid-grade (89) octane fuel MAY have some benefits in your case (especially in the idle/off idle performance area).

DEFINITELY WAY overdue for a fuel filter. Here's a link to the recommended ANNUAL (once per year minimum) maintenance items for your engine:
