    lookin for bullet info

Hey bullet guys. I have a few questions for you. Please before this goes further I am not here to start rumors or fights. I am just curious an really like the bullet. As its one of the faster bass boats out there. Among Blazer, Allison, Stroker an so on. 2 of my buddies have one. They are both the 89 19XF. They are kick a$$. One question is, buddy says a blazer is a cheap bullet. Again I am not downing any ride here. He says some one from bullet a long time ago left an started Blazer boats. Does any one know if this is true. Why did bullet stop making a 19ft boat? Guys what do you really like about the bullet besides its looks an going fast. Has to be more than just that. Please I want to hear pros an cons from you guys. I am thinking about buying yet another boat. Cause I just like them. Thanks

Re: lookin for bullet info (revinkevin)

Obviously we all love them for their looks and speed, but for me they are an awesome boat to fish out of. I love the front deck, storage, access to everything. They are a smoothe riding boat regardless of what others may say. People tend to judge them before they take a ride in one. I'm sure there will be some beter answers come along, but they are just an all around awesome boat from every aspect.

I like the storage in the bullets. Alot of people see less doors and thunk that means less storage. It has a bunch of big open compartments and you can come up with your own tackle organization

price was huge for me and their longstanding reputation of durability..........fit and finish is second to none other than Allison's, but they are much pricier...........they fish well but the wind does blow them around a bit as they sit nose high..........they won't use as much fuel as speed comes at lower rpm's.........21'ers decks are plenty big enough........simple boats without any bells/whistles......storage is great............they are just what I wanted as they are a blast to personalize as well

I don't have one but I love them. I'm looking for one now. The speed the space and the ride. I think that this is also the most trick out boat out there. I should had brought one when I had a chance. But oh well. I'm trying to sell my boat now to buy one.

I can chime in with the other guys, I love the huge deck for the fishing platform, nothing short of phenominal, sure you have your speed and looks. The speed is when the fish aren't biting you can still have a blast.... Ride, awesome ride in the rough water I was more than surprised about that. Lets talk storage , I have never seen a bass boat with that much storage, amazing, people who see the storage are like wow!!!!!! this thing has a ton of storage.... so take it from there ....

I have owned a 202 Blazer and now a 21 XDC Bullet. There is nothing wrong with a Blazer... I do like my Bullet better as I find it is roomier and the finish is nicer , as well as being a tad faster.. The 21 ft 10 inch Bullet is better in rough water because it is bigger..

Re: lookin for bullet info (hank 03bullet)

Mine is a 90 Model. While it wasn't in the best shape when I bought it I found it pleanty easy to get assistance from Tom @ Bullet boats as well as matching interrior components etc. I have ridden in many boats and owened several others myself. The first time I drove my Bullet was like nothing else. I still own a Shadow bass boat that has pleanty of potiential and is a fast hull also....... But it will never again get the attention my Bullet does.

Re: lookin for bullet info (LunkerStu)

I still have the Bass and Walleye issue from several years ago that talks about hull "splashing" where a group buys a specific hull they want to copy and builds a copy. Then starts a brand from the splashed hull. It used to be an active practice until the laws changed a few years ago, and yes, there is mention in th article about the birth of the Blazer from a splashed Bullet hull.

I believe that I have heard that more than once , I think Bullet's hull would be the one to copy, it's a fast hull.....

Re: lookin for bullet info (tmbullet)

just like every one else , the fishability is key, bullet has the most stable platform ive ever fished from, yes its a little light in the wind but that also has a pro to it, i can fish much shallower water than most other bass boats, then the most important reason is customer service, Tom at bullet will jump through hoops to get you whatever you need for your boat, and most of the dealers ive met will do the absolute same, the most dedicated family of boats you will ever meet oh and did i mention its just cool to own one

Re: lookin for bullet info (Bullet250)

Its clear you guys love the looks an speed. As well as there is much more storage to the boat than meets the eye. So far I thank you guys for the input. Finally some one did answer the one question about the blazer bullet thing. Makes sence. Again why does bullet not make a shorter boat than a 20ft any more. Used to make a 19ft. A 20ft boat wont fit in my garage either.

Re: lookin for bullet info (revinkevin)

I was in a similar position as you a year ago. I had an 18' Avalanche and did not like the choppy water handling so I thought I would try to go 19' fiberglass. Found out that Champions have a great rough water reputation. it Then somewhere along the way the Bullet owners got into the post and I was sold. Yes they are fast, good storage and fishing platform but also fun to drive. My only issue has been learning to control the chine walk which no one has mentioned. It takes some learning to balance it. Mine happens around 66, others in the low 70's. As for length, other than the garage issue for you, I bought a 20XDC but would probably buy the 21XDC if I were to do it again. Good luck in your hunt.

Re: lookin for bullet info (revinkevin)

other than speed, how slow it will go, mine on pad is about 18 MPH so its much slower than other brands, I like the storage --- more than you can use-- I bed fish alot so the deck height and shallow water draft makes it real nice, the rough water ride is great and if I fish offshore humps and ledges with wind blowing hard it will handle the waves good. The best thing is BULLET builds a soild built boat and with some customizing each BULLET becomes each owners idenity. as for a 19 ftr there's no need when a 20ftr with 150/175/200 and up can perform well.

Re: lookin for bullet info (2500)

To pile on what everyone else has already said - another unqiue thing about Bullets is how shallow of water you can float one in. You can easily float the nose of the boat in less than 6 inches of water if you have the troller mounted TN style. This comes in handy flipping and pitching, fishing grass/pads and when you get "hung up" :)

My favorite thing, however, is the simplicity as mentioned before. There isn't a bunch of plastic to dry rot. And with little money you can take a 1993 21XD and make it look like a 2011 21XD. This is what helps the resale value so much I believe.

Re: lookin for bullet info (BOOD)

To answer the question about why they dont build a 19ftr. anymore....

Any boat over 20feet long is not horspower rated by the Coast Guard. Its left up to the manufacturer to rate the boat. The 20' Bullets are actually 20'1". Therefore they are not regulated by the CG on horsepower.
