Mounting thru-hull transducers

I need to mount a thru-hull transducer in my 21 XDC and the main fuel tank is in the way. I was thinking I would have to run it dry then remove it to get at the bilge. Is this the only way ???

Mine wasnt dry, but if you take the fuel hose off just past the bulb, you can pump & siphon it into cans to get it as empty as possible. But you gotta pull the tank!!

Yes you are going to have to pump the tank as empty as possible. It is rough when trying to remove it with gas in it. I speak from experience

I had to fix my fuel level sensing unit after i pulled the tank.

Pulling the tank sux.... But it sux less after you do it 5 times.

What Mike said , It gets easy with enough practice. That said I have to pull mine again My in dash flasher has never worked right since Ive had the boat ,so I put the one for my garmin gps next to it no good not working either maybe the 4th time is the charm. there were 2 in there from the factory both would not work .

get a rope around the tank, tie it in a knot, and LEAVE IT.....i can pull my tank in minutes
