How can you tell if the water is suitable for bass to live in it? I ask this question because my father in law has a camp in Dulac and where his camp is the water doesn't seem to have a strong salt taste but I have never caught a bass fishing for Reds there. I know I can make the run to Decade and catch bass and some of the areas I catch bass in DeCade are further south than his place so it would seem I should be able to catch some around his camp especially it being right off the Houma Nav channel.
I know I could just go and try and catch some but I was just wondering what people look for in the marsh.
Is it true if a pond has alligators it is fresh enough for bass? If it has trees it is fresh enough for bass? What about in the marsh where there is just marsh grass?
Thanks in advance for any help.
