    Private canal

I would like to know how you can make a canal that the intercostal feeds private. I'm talking about Crawford canal by lake hackberry. Just doesn't make any since to me. It's not like I was hunting.

To me if they want it private they need to dam it off from the intercostal. Do y'all know of anyone receiving a ticket for being in the Crawford.

    Re: Private canal (Gun Runner)

From my understanding there is some BS law that says if it's a dug canal they owner can own the bottom and can gate it and\or make it private and run people out. Whatever the case may be it's a crock of Chit!!

    Re: Private canal (JOHN202)

Well I got ran out that same canal by 3 guys in a air boat , the dic- head driver " flashed his badage " and said we can do it the hard way or the easy way , he wrote down my la # I tried to get his but he had the rutters turned so I couldn't right them down , so I contacted the wild life and fisheries and it and they said HE IS WRONG for doing what he's doing and they have several complaints on him!! I was fishing in the summer time so it wasn't hunting season , I did some research on it and it's kinda one of them " gray " areas to where it can go both ways. I would love to team up on him and prove him and all his buddies wrong !
That's why they call it fishin and not catchin

We got ran out yesterday evening by a guy and woman in a skiff. They wasn't rude but I didn't put up a fight. I could understand if we was hunting but fishing come on.

You should have told them that you were looking for one of your fish that got away

Karma's a bitch. If you are an (edit), bad things happen. Like, you may get run over by a boat in Bayou Penchant.....just saying.

    Re: (Bada$$Bullet)

unfortunately, it is happening more and more.

Gheens canal is my favorite example. People used that canal to get to Lake Salvador for YEARS... Cenac bought the property and gated it up.

then you have issues like the Clovelly boat launch. The things we enjoy are slowly fading away.. time for people in this country to wake the f#$% up.

It's all a bunch of B.S. If its a private canal dam it off, circulate your own water, and buy your own fish!!

If its his duck lease he can't do you a damn thing for fishing.People think just cause they have something leased for hunting they can tell people to stay out for everything.
Oh and Crawford is an A-Hole..He's been trying to run us out of those canals since we were in high school. He thinks he owns the whole damn bayou..all he does is oversee the land owners land.

    Re: (droptine)

We called the GW and property owner. They both said the same thing.Unless his lease says he has rights for hunting and fishing. He can't do you anything about fishing.Actually you can ask him on spot to show you his lease. If he can't provide it he can't do anything until he shows it to you.

    Re: Private canal (202prov)

The last time the issue came up they told the owner he had to pump out the water and remove all wild fish...the fence basically had to be a seine net to keep sport fish out
