Finally had time to do a little fishing today. So my dad and I went to Bayou Black. Got there at daylight and made two stops in the shell cuts. We decided since the water looked good, let's go to Copasaw. About a 1/4 mile from the entrance to Copasaw in the intercoastal, my motor seems like it dropped a plug, then maybe two more. Damn the luck. Last time I ran it was at the Concordia rally and she was screaming there. Had to troll from there for 3 hrs to the landing. A mile from the landing, a local guy in a Rocket tows me the last mile. ( I hope the guy in the skeeter that was around me never needs a tow. After the third time he passed us with just the trolling motor down with no rods in hand, he would of figured we were broke down. I was taught to help no matter if it messed up the rest of my day. An older gentlemen also offered to tow me in. Hats off to the two guys that wanted to help.). Shots out to my boys Sushi and Kyle. Texted Sushi but he was somewhere else and he texted Kyle who would pass by on his way home if I hadn't made it. Kyle gave me a call right as I was being towed into Bayou Black Marina. These are just two of the great guys that are on this site. I would do the same for the guys on here.
Make it back to the landing, put the boat on the trailer and I notice a chip in my fiberglass.![]()
I am about ready to blow a gasket as this is the first chip I ever put on her. It is about the size of a dime.
Now to top it off, I notice my truck is riding rough. I look at my trailer and notice the axle jumping pretty good. Pull into a gas station and the cords on the radials must have broke on the drivers side tire. Decided, f... It, I will take my time and get to my house. When I get home, all cords must have broke as the tire is swipe and narrow.
So the breakdown of the trip is, I need two new tires, some gelcoat chip repair and hopefully just some coilpacks. Oh yes only caught 6 knots and a sac a lait. They are there to fight another day.The water is a little high but very pretty in the shell cut area all the way to intercoastal. Have to get tires first. Any suggestions on some trailer tires? I am looking for white letters in 14
inch.
At this rate, this week can only get better.![]()
