    250XS - 300 XS cowl silence

    Have anyone tryed change cowl betwine a 300Xs and a 250XS 2008 ???

    in my 250XS there are diffrent silence material than my friends 300XS

    it's WAY more quiet than my 250 XS ( it's scream like a raped ape )

    I don't recommend changing any item on these engines that can alter it's airflow characteristics. The engine has NO WAY of compensating for such changes.

    One additional note.... the 300XS incorporates a "harmonic balancer" beneath the flywheel (it was added to the 250's in "late production" also).

    It looks they have same tickness but 300XS is little harder and have the aluminium foile ......if they are so sensitive, shouldn't everyone running Randy corsons Alien style
    30l cowl blow their motors ????

    That would depend on how carefully he researched/matched the airflow characteristics of the OEM cowling.....

    Also, "small changes" in airflow may not have "immediate" effects (but may, over time affect the longevity of the engine).

    i tried putting a 250 xs cowl on a 300xs ,and it run run fine til WOT ....its afe to say that a 300xs will run like a 250 xs with a 250 xs cowl on it ..i lost around 8 mph top end..
