I use to be familar with that area when I was much younger. I spent the summer months with my cousin in eastern New Orleans. Yeh, some the spots are Michoud and the eastern area had bass in them. But a lot of them were had to get to and they would get plugged up with trash so the water couldn't flow through them on a regular bases. Plus having to fight the snakes and the big gators made it not worth the effort. We use to catch some nice one only the canal at the Hwy. 11 junction canal that runs to the rigolets.

I used to fish Lacombe and Bonafuca alot before Katrina, have not been back since. There were several trips of 100 + fish and most was on topwater. Taught my son how to fish over there.

Never caught bass in that area. I have an uncle that lives on the corner of Chef Pass and Bayou Sauvage. I have wore out many, many a speckled trout off his pier at night.

You can catch one here or there but you won't catch enough to feed the family. You mostly hear about catching a bass when using shrimp. Venetion Isle holds some. Clark Rheem was catching them in the Crows Foot area.
