    New 250 ProXS/SmartCraft Question

    Hello,

I just picked up my Ranger Z521 with 250 ProXS on Friday. The SmartCraft gauge showed my break-in period, my tach, fuel flow but nothing else. Are the sensors already there for trim, oil level and fuel level? I was getting an alarm that I was out of gas, but the capacity was set to 2 gallons. I found where to change that but it wasn't detecting the amount of fuel. Oil was the same way. Trim would just show 0 all the time even after trying to calibrate it.

Are there sensors I have add to have these things connected or is there some kind of process to get them to detect the sensors? It's back at the dealer now for some accessories but it's bugging me.

Fuel Level: You must have a Fuel/Oil/Paddle harness rigged to the engine.

Oil Level: Same as above, but you must also have an oil level sensor in the oil tank.

Trim: You must have a digital trim sensor to use this feature (analog sender is standard equipment).

Note: For FUEL LEVEL and TRIM: IF you add the necessary accessories to utilize Smartcraft Features.... you will LOSE the function of any analog gauges that pertain to that item. There is an alternative: Smartcraft "System Link" Gauges (which read from the Smartcraft Network).

Great, thank you. I assume if I don't want to use the gauge then, I can disable those functions in the gauge so they don't throw alarms?

Correct. Any one of the three above items can be set to "not installed".

When setting TANKS (fuel or oil), "not installed" would be reached by scrolling one choice further than "zero".
