I am interested in the 2.6 liter E-TEC 200 to repower my 22 foot Whaler, and I'm looking for some information on this motor. Details of the boat and it's use are at the bottom of this post. Here are the questions:

1) Are these motors shipping yet, and if so, is anyone running one?

2) Has anyone seen a torque vs. RPM chart similar to the one BRP published for the 225?

3) I'm interested in this motor over the 3.3 liter 200 or 225 primarily because of weight and size. Does anyone know if BRP has published dimensioned drawings of the V6 E-TECs? I'm pretty sure I will have a clearance problem when tilting the big block E-TEC clear of the water.

Thanks in advance, this looks like a terrific forum.

The 1989 200 h.p. Mercury Black Max (2.4 liter carbed) on the transom of my Outrage 22 Cuddy of the same vintage is blown, and I'm shopping for a new motor. My criteria are light weight (I like to run with the plugs out), good power, fuel economy, low noise, low smoke and reliability. The boat is used 90% for fishing 2-15 miles out, but with new power will probably do a few tuna runs each year up to 40 miles out. I do a lot of trolling on the kicker for chinook salmon, as well as drift fishing for halibut and rockfish. The boat it kept in a wet slip year-round in Northern California. -1989 Mercury 200, carburated, 382 lbs. 2327cc displacement
-1989 Mercury 15, electric start, remote controls, 75 lbs.
-2 Group 27 marine batteries, 53 lbs. each
-3 gallon oil reservoir 28 lbs (full)
-1 gallon Autoblend unit 10 lbs. (full)
-Total weight of components behind splashwell dam= 601 lbs.
-Dry weight of hull is 2250 lbs (not including T-top or equipment)
