You have to be from north of I-20 to be able to hunt at night and during closed season. But I know what you mean about closed season. I quit a club years ago because all the deer were dead before the season opened.

Yeah Barry, We have PLENTY of outlaws up there too. I just couldn't resist taking a jab at him.
I was in Toledo Tackle last week, and they were talking about a new cross bow on the market. It shoots an advertised speed of like 404-fps. Chuck had just sold one to some local doctor. I actually saw it, and it looks very strange. The limbs are backwards (they curve away from the shooter). They said it shoots pretty much flat out to 60+ yards....One bad azz mofo!!![]()
They are bad and if I hadn't just bought a bow two years ago, I might get one. Hunted with a guy that had one. After the hunt, he would have to shoot it into a target. Couldn't dry fire it and it had to be uncocked.
I been thinking about gettin one. Some talk shit about it vs a real bow, then they grab a gun when gun season opensWhy not give yourself the best advantage?

If i started bow hunting again thats what i would get, but i see a problem if you have to reload and your hunting out of a climbing stand..
Every thing is legal, unless you get caught.![]()

John it is very easy to reload if need be they have hand cranks you can put on them. Simply wind it up.
When I started hunting, archery was limited to a bow. You needed to be old or handicapped to shoot a crossbow. The only bows were recurve. They were hard to shoot and even harder to shoot good. In the 70's, the Bear Whitetail Hunter changed everything. Now anyone can use a crossbow. Blackpowder season was designed for guys that dressed like Daniel Boone and used Kentucky rifles and round balls. Couldn't hit nothing wiht those rifles. When the manufacturers saw a gold mine, they started improving the rifles. They went to primers, in line ignition, saboted bullets and shotgun primers. Now you can use a 45/70 single shot with a scope. Why don't they just open the season in mid October and let you shoot whatever you want?

Figured they had to change the law to have that many types available and there were no restrictions noted on sales. So I figured all the hunters out here would know the answer.![]()

Barry you answered your own question. Its about money. Why would the manufactures want you to be able to buy one weapon when they have people buying three now to make it through one season?
