    Blown Powerhead on 2005 250XS

Well, it's official. The number 6 cylinder has blown. No warranty. Anyways, if anyone knows where to find a REASONABLE price on a re-man powerhead, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Well, seeing how I don't have any smartcraft guages or anything similar (unfortunate, but have learned my lesson), I really don't know. I just know that Bass Pro quoted me at $6600 for parts and labor on a re-man. Oh, and if you don't have smartcraft, get it. Still not sure what caused it. I have it parked here at the house right now. I am going to find the best deal I can (with a warranty) before she goes anywhere.

I have the same motor, year, and same number 6 fail at 188hrs. i had eric simon rebuild my motor. he also included the flywheel mod, balance and blue print, and year warranty. i have put about 100hrs on the rebuild w/o any trouble. he is an honest guy that knows his way around a merc. check him out, he is a sponsor of bbc. good luck.

Don, Eric, or Wayne Worthy @ Hydro Tec can all take care of you exceptionally well. Stay with these guys and you'll be in very good hands with others???????

    You've got an IM.

Sent you a couple of ideas to consider.
