Hey guys is there a way to test a fuel gauge to c if it went out r my sending unit on my tank? And can u test a powertrim gauge that doesn't work either? And no the termites didn't get to it. I checked it out very good. A friend of mine works for terminix and he said I'm good to go! Lol! Thanks guys!

for the fuel gauge just short the wires on the sending unit together with the key on, if your gauge pegs then the gauge is good

Hey MO,
If both gauges were working recently, my guess is that the senders went bad. I know Merc trim senders go out often and are expensive. The new digital one on my 07 300XS already had to be changed. On the fuel sender, I think it is on top of the tank with easy access. Pull it out the tank and see if maybe the float came off or is stuck. If it is not the sender, then I dont know how to check the gauge other than take it out and hook it to someone elses known good sender.
