    4 beeps every 120 seconds...1996 225 EFI

i had my 96 EFI 225 rebuilt this summer do to lost compression...
since my dad has been rebuilding performance car engines for over 30 years, he tackled the job for me....
Motor is now STRONG.... i mean WOW...
Problem is, starting 30 seconds after starting the engine, the alarm will give 4 BEEEEEEEPS. then 120 seconds later, 4 more BEEEEEEEEPS....repeat, repeat....
owners manual says, low water pressure, or high oil TEMP, LOW compression...
we've checked all these and thats not it....
My dad says he thinks we crossed a wire when hooking the alarm back up, but haven't been able to fix....
    any one have any ideas???????

LOW OIL LEVEL in the ENGINE MOUNTED OIL TANK

    -or-

    WATER IN FUEL

(or a problem with either of those sensors)

    ok....
the oil level is definately FULL....
CAN"T be water in Tank, because just mounted the motor on a new used boat and the tank was DRY prior to me putting the first drops of Gas in...
So i'm thinking its the sensors...how do i check or replace???

Never say "Can't".... it could be from condensation, water in the lines, or even water that was already in the fuel filter.

The best way to make a determination is to have the engine connected to the Computer Diagnostic System (or a DDT). If that's not possible.... try disconnecting the wire from the water separating filter (temporarily) to see if the horn "ceases".

If it does..... it's a water in fuel warning.
