Just got back from a 4-day trip and wanted to give a heads-up to anyone going there soon.
Fishing was very slow Thursday - Saturday with high pressure and bluebird skies. Sunday was much better. I boated 6 and culled one. My best was a 4lb 5oz which won our tournament for largest bass. My Sunday total was 13.8. Not bad for a 1/2 day of fishing. My prior two days were skunked.
I threw everything under the Sun at them and found that the most productive lure was a War Eagle blue herring spinner bait 3/8 oz and the only place it worked well was on the flats in Patroon next to main lake.
I found plenty of muddy water back in the other spots I usually fish with only small non-keepers in those. Other pockets that had suspended fish on the sonar would not produce any fish.
Blue lake had nice looking water but I only saw one boat bring in a fish in 3 hours and it was a non-keeper.
The water stayed between 50 and 55 degrees for the whole trip which is too cold for spawn but the fish were definitely on the flats in Patroon.
Good luck to whoever is going. I hope this info helps.
