    2005 proxs 225

    anyone advise how to remove and clean the thermostats?

    Thermostat "cleaning" is not that difficult, in and of itself. Your engine utilizes a "bucket" style thermostat, which can actually be "disassembled" partially.

    Actually getting the thermostats OUT is another story.... it will require partial removal of the fuel rails from the engine (loosening them, disconnecting direct injector harness plugs, and sliding the rails back on their studs).

    A word of caution here.... you would be wise to have a Factory Service Manual on hand before attempting this. It's imperitive that certain safety precautions be followed, since there is both AIR PRESSURE and FUEL PRESSURE in the rails. Additionally, you'll need to ensure that the rails are properly torqued when reinstalling them.
