Yall think a 1/2 ton pick up is ample for this ride or not??????? Found a smokin deal on one with a 250 hpdi but i am concerned about the truck. i dont have much experience with these bay boats and how they pull. One guy says he pulls one with his tahoe another tells me its load on his 3/4 ton diesel.Not sure what to beleive and dont want to drive to vero beach and buy it then cant pull it home!
The Baystealth website show an approximate weight of 2350 lbs. Then you add motor and trailer and you are around 4000 lbs.
I would think a 1/2 ton would be fine. My boss has a 24' Carolina Skiff that he has towed with his little Chevy Colorado 4wd. I think it has a 5 cylinder. He said the towing cap. of the truck is rated higher than the weight of the boat.

Doug my buddy has a 24' Bay Champ w/250 Yammie and says that is why he bought the Ford PS. On a flat pull his 1/2 ton could get the job done but some of the launches just killed it. Believe it ate the tranny in the 1/2 ton so he moved up to the big boys. Good luck on whatever you decide.TBJ

I pull a 24 bay champ with my tundra and it does great. The bass boat is like nothing back there.
