    South Toledo Bend

We will be staying at the south state park and would like to "run" to the texas side. It looks like it might not be too bad to "putt putt" across near the islands in a WSW direction from the south LA isle. Anyone with advice on this area and the trees?

    Am thinking about:
South Coves in Mill Creek (#8 on the Hook N Line Map)
    Little Lowe Flats area
Would love to his Six mile north coves but think the run might be too long/dangerous

Saving the LA side for if we get rain/wind and are "stuck"

BTW, whats the cost on a 1 day Texas license? Heard you need this if you go launch there.

Stay south La. Islands and run across aiming just north side of the tx. Islands you will be ok there. Also caught some fish as you head into mill creek 1st cove on the left, plus you not need Tx. license on Toledo Bend it does not matter where you put in at http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/p...s.pdf look down about the 4th paragragh. You might go to Indain creek and try there done good there too. But if you fish Tx. side its only 5 bass limit instead of 8.

Heard from more than 3 people saying that "If you Launch on the Texas side, you need a Texas License" I know you don't to fish it, but was thinking about trailering the boat to that side to avoid the dangerous run. Im one that doesnt keep the fish.
I have more fun catching them than cleaning and eating them

The state park is real nice, you'll enjoy that. As far as the boat run, just stay
south of the islands, you shouldn't have a problem. Should try to make it up to
6-mile,housen,indian mounds if you can. heard lots of fish were caught last week.
We caught 140 in 3 days on the north end last week

Doesn't matter where you launch, you can get by with a La lic....Texas boat launch is a free launch, it's close to indian creek six mile, mill creek, etc....If your at S. La park, like Eric said, when you round the back side of La Island...point toward the back point off of Tx island and head straight you should be ok, as long as the water level is not way down...once you get inbetween Tx Island and the Tx bank you can fish that pocket on the inside of the Island..caught some nice fish there...or head into Mill creek and hit those pockets in there....god luck
