to my wife's families in Baker and Zachary. WOW!! They got HAMMERED! We brought groceries (stores open with empty shelves) and some gas (long lines), plus helped with the clean up. Not far from my SIL's house in Zachary, a tree fell on a car and crushed it.Luckily no one was hurt.
They say they heard 2 tornadoes during the storm, so the damage could have been ALOT worse. It is slowly coming back around.
One observation, though. The thing that makes that part of the state so beautiful and desirable to live is also what did the most damage. If it weren't for the trees knocking down power lines and hitting cars and houses, the damage would have been about 75% less. I guess no matter where you live, you have to take a chance with something.
