my new rig has a 225 proxs ( no smartcraft ) Im going to install a water temp gauge for sure. is there a specific location recommended for the sending unit? is there a way to monitor both heads with one gauge? ( doubtful , but theres always hope)

You should be able to connect to the "tan" wire in the ignition switch harness, and monitor temperature from this location.
I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you consider a Smartcraft Instrument, however. There's just no substitute for being able to "SEE" what's going on with your engine.![]()
