    whats the deal

    Can someone please tell me what is involved in transforming a 225 optimax into a 250? Is it just a change out of the computer or is there more involved?

    I've seen where different companies are offering "PCM upgrades" to accomplish this (and essentially only that).

    Some of the REAL differences, for let's say a 225 ProXS and 250 ProXS:

    -PCM Calibration
    -Port Timing in the Cylinder Sleeves ** CRITICAL

    And, if you have a "standard" Optimax, the direct injectors, compressor, and air rails are also different. Then, you have to compare tuners and adapter plates....

    I can tell you (from accidental experience) that a 225 will "run" with a 250 cal. It will not, however, make any substantial "better top end".... and it idles TERRIBLE.
