So, had a tourney on the Mississippi (Pool 13) this weekend... and you can imagine the rest...
Running out of a lake, had to avoid another boat coming around a blind corner and got stuck on a sandbar. Shut it down and got my shoes wet... knees stayed dry![]()
Telltale was plugged, but had plenty of water pressure once we got into deeper water. But, the engine temp would get no higher than 100 degrees. Had a pretty good run back to the ramp, so I kept it below 4K with the damn alarm giving me a headache.
Got it home and flushed the motor with the hose hookup. Pulled the telltale hose and flushed it (Pretty much packed with sand). Put on the muffs and still could not get temps up.
Called mech. and told him I must have a thermostat stuck open. He says drop it off and we will check Poppet and Thermo... and drop LU to remove any sand.![]()
What else should we look at? I ask not because I don't trust my mech (he's the best in our area!)... but because our Resident Expert always has an idea or two.![]()
