I think it is a great idea and is a worthy project!!![]()
Your born...you fish...you die...Thank You God!
This is a great idea and really shows your head is in the right spot.
But you better check with your coach and with your school administrators first.
There might be issues with getting donations for a sport as an amateur athlete. I know it's not the NCAA, but there are still certain rules, even in high school, when it comes to mixing money and sports.
Hopefully they approve it and you can do it.
sounds great if you can get the OK

Jaydon, great initiative.....Glad to see the younger generation dedicated to giving back......I would encourage you to research in depth what charity you decide to support. I recall a couple years ago at a KBFN meeting a discussion and decision to stop supporting make a wish foundation because they would not support applicants whose wish were hunting or fishing related.....That is just second hand information so I encourage you to do the research......
Cheaper to keep a kid in tourney fishing than paying attorneys to keep them out of jail !!

Jaydon, that is really a cool thing to want to do. Count me in if you can get the approval. I'm proud of you man, and i know your family is too.
Also, as to the Make-A-Wish and hunting or fishing. I was a KBFN E-board member at the time the question was raised. Make-A-Wish of Kansas was very open in explaining that their liability insurer would not cover wishes that included firearms. As a result when a wish was requested that included firearms they facilitated the wish being granted through another organization who could handle the wish.
As to fishing, at one of the KBFN banquets one of our special guests that year was a 16 y/o young man from SE Kansas who spoke to us about the wish he was granted, I think when he was 12. It included a trip to Hawaii, deep sea fishing, and meeting some girls with "coconut shells covering their thingies", He was a neat kid. Our local club tried to take him fishing a few times, I think Melvin actually got to take him once.
All this was several years ago, their policy could have changed. Just an FYI. Thanks, Brad V.
Check it out, Hunt of a Lifetime is essentially the Make a Wish for outdoorsmen!
