    Smartcraft Gauges

I think I saw somewhere that you can have your speedometer hooked to your GPS receiver. Is this correct? How do you do it? If this is not right place to get info, where do I look? Currently my speedometer is clogged, I blaming soggy wood packed in the lower unit.
Thanks for any information in advance.

You have two nmea wires on the SC one is shield (ground) the other is receive, from GPS transmit to SC recive and GPS ground to SC ground.
And go in to cal 2 to enable GPS speed.
You must have nmea 0183 out from GPS, it works fine for me i have a lowrance lcx 37c.
You might have to config com port settings (on lowrance) in the sonar or plotter

This post has some nice color layouts... as well as additional information for utilizing "later communication protocols":

It also depends on what Electronics you are going to use for your reciever. The SC GPS guages will not communicate with the HB 997. Garmin and Lowrance I have heard no issues.

I am not sure if its only the 997si or all humminbird.
