I have been approached about bringing back the wednesday night tourney @ Milford....Here are the rough ideas thrown around
20 dollar per boat entry
90 percent payback..have to pay for tournament permit
big bass side pot optional
no year end.......or points system
The idea is.......a fun tournament for guys to get together and enjoy fishing and company without alot of money involved.......Thoughts???
Like we've discussed many times, i think it should be every other week or weekend. Not to sound cocky, but as small as this lake fishes, and as good of fisherman on this lake, I think it would hurt us more than anything to fish every week. It's obvious anytime there is a big tourny on the lake. usually 6 or 7 of the top 10 guys in those tournys are the ones who would fish every week.
With that said, I am game for whatever. If it was set on every wed, I could only fish every other one because of my work schedule. I would get the tanks and scales if people would show up.I like the idea of $60 per boat, every other saturday morning.
This is in the idea phase now....just collecting thoughts

If it were on Saturday's like RJ suggests you may get more out of town guys willing to jump in. It's only a 2 hour run from here, and if it's just for fun ($20-$40) I think you could generate at least a little interest in guys from this end of the state dropping in one or two Saturday's throughout the year just to be social.
But I fully underdstand the intent of a week night jackpot; they do em on Thursday at Smithville.

Would you come down? That would be sweet of you could bring Larry or one of the LBC guys with ya.
My biggest problem with Wed. nights is getting there in time after work. If they didn't start til 6 I could swing it and would. Not opposed to the Saturday deal, but that does start to interfere with those that fish other stuff. I am game for getting it going again and would fish whenever I could.
Another thing to consider is a 2 or 3 fish limit if we're worried about pressure?

Not much wiggle room let in my 2010 schedule.....but would do my best to make a Sat deal just to have some fun with friends

Anything is possible. I have a pretty tight schedule this year, but if I had a free Saturday I would enjoy getting back on Milford. I haven't been on that lake in over 15 years, but moreover I would enjoy the social time after the day of fishing. Don't hinge the decision on me. If you guys need a week night tourney, by all means go for it. I can come down to hang with you, the old man and Tim sometime.
I'd be interested in coming over and fishing if it was on a Saturday. Only way I could fish it.

I'm sure if I told the team about this, you would have a few college guys show up to fish every now and then.

if i had to take a day off work to come fish it,, RJ would have to cook me a steak, Tim would have to buy my beer and Randy Sr .. would have to put me up for the night... sounds like a Good time to me
If you guys are concerned about fishing pressure maybe try fishing just big bass instead of concentrating on getting a sack just an idea. I enjoyed fishing those tournaments when they were going like you guys said it wasnt the money it was just a group of guys getting together and having a good time.
I have quite a few guys who would be interested. I like the $20 dollars and not fifty. I will be there every wednesday I can be. Keep me posted.

No, I'd buy you the beer and Tim could cook your steak! I thought all he was good at was netting MY fish, and calling/killing geese. That was until he grillled me up a steak a few years back. He is suprisingly handy on the grill
