Beep after engine start up !!

Can anyone tell me why my motor cranks and then there is a single beep afterwards ?? It also beeps sometimes when i'm loading the boat on the trailer and i'm putting a load on the motor ?? I just dont know about my ProXS anymore, just doesnt seem like it has it all there. I have a 26 TXP OT/4 and it bogs down so much getting out on holeshot, it isnt even funny. I keep taking PVS plugs out and it gets worse....

The "beep" after startup may be a "ProXS Idle Flare with Neutral Overspeed Fault"... only way to know for sure is to have a Computer Diagnostic done. This would appear as a "netural overspeed fault" on a "cold engine"- with "zero percent throttle position". IF this is the case... please see the post pinned at the top of the forum, and add your serial number.

As for your "loading on the trailer" comment... if you're trimmed up too far, the ECM will set "overspeed" faults... and limit your power based on trying to exceed 2000 RPM when "trimmed too high".

As for your "performance" issues (and prop comments).... have you changed props recently? When was the engine last serviced, including filters/lube and spark plugs?

What boat, Engine Serial Number, and how many hours?

Don, i actually just had a complete go through, on my motor when the lower unit was replaced from slinging a blade last octoboer. They supposedly went in and did all the lube, plug, impeller, water pump, blah blah blah changes. Yes it is a new prop, but the same exact prop, minus the B&B that was done by mark to the prop. I hear about guys running the same boat and motor package as mine that are running 27 pitch props, and i can barely turn a 26 to full rpm and never have been able to, that i can remember. As far as my boat, its a 20X2 Triton with a 250 ProXS on a 12" offset, sitting at about 3" beneath the pad with a 26 TXP ot/4 that has had no work done to it, except PVS ports. My engine is a 250 XS L, built 6/2007 and the serial is 1B506129. Hope this helps and someone can give me some answers or advice !!

Some thing to remember about props, you can take 2 from the same compay, same pitch and same model, out of the box ant they will run different!! The TXP's usually run stiff, lie a 26 txp will run like a 27..

Has your water pressure changed at all, is it higher??? I know this shouldn't happen but during the service did they fool with motor height??

If Mark Balanced and blue printed your last prop he will have that on record and should be able to duplicate it for ya..

Also ck for WOT, if ya have a hot foot some times the stop screw in the back can work it's way up and stop ya from getting full peddle
