    300xs rpms

How many rpms should I be running ? I had a friend tell me that this engine is made to run 6400 rpms. I have been turning 5900-6000 with a worked 26 tempest, 79.3 top speed no load, with my new fury I was turning 6100 rpms, 77.4 2 people tourney load. I am thinking that it is better to run less rpms if you are getting the performance that you like, any help appreciated, thanks.

On 20" Shaft Models, Propping RPM range is 5500-6300 RPM.

Your "peak power" is likely in the 5850-6100 RPM range. Prop near the top of that range in cool weather, lightly loaded, and you should be good to go.

Thanks a bunch, that is where I am at, I think I may have that Fury I got from you worked up a bit, I really like it so far, thanks again.

You'll not get a lot of improvement on that Fury... MAYBE 1/2 pitch point. Talk with Mark Croxton over on the Props Forum.
