Now your being a smart ass.... I better go fishin'....... by my whinnig self

All I can figure is that I hit them and they run off and hopefully kick the bucket. I told my dad about it and he came out and watched as I shot one.... damn thing jumped all over and was squeiling like crazy and then run off. Dad and I agreed I had hit him but for some reason they won't die right on the spot. I think it because all I am shooting is a .22 but everyone I talk to about it says it should kill them.

There now you know the rest of my whinning story

    Re: target practice anyone?? (whoza_daddy)

Mike, almost every single one of the coons Ive shot out of a tree behind dogs with a .22, have required more than one shot, sometimes a lot of shots. Im not the most experienced by any means, but thats been my experiences. Ocassionally, you get that one that that first shot ticks off enough that it jumps or falls in its rage. They almost never hit the ground dead with one shot. It depends where you hit if the shot will be fatal. Coons are tough suckers

    Re: target practice anyone?? (Bigbassbo)

Ive seen one shot in the head (a couple times), run off. It finally fell over dead with some "pursuit" and quick pistol work.

I use eather a AR-15 30 round clip and fires as fast as you pull the trigger , or the AK-47, or the 45 acp, but the 7mm mag will put a heck of a hole in them.

    Re: target practice anyone?? (Bigbassbo)

The 22 I have I had when I was 14 and the dang thing has never shot more then one at a time.... yep, should be an automatic. I want to buy a new one but reel, rods and a new truck seem more important right now.

I thought about taking my 12g with 4's and seeing if that would do. The only problem is that they are very very very skidish and I can't do much before they are gone.

ohh the scatter gun hehe have one of those to a stage coach side xside 2 triggers little sortty, hurts like hell with 3in mags shooting both at same time but you should see the pattern and how far the 1/2 inch plate flys when you shoot it
