water pressure tube - changed fom analogue to smartcraft

    Hi all,

When I had the 225 pro xs fitted some time back, I had the Smartcraft "Tach" & "Speed" gauges fitted, however as my old water pressure gauge remained, the pressure tube remained and was reconnected at the engine end.

I have since removed the old gauges and replaced them with the Smartcraft SC100's which look the part (Thx Don)

Question is.....what do I do with the now "excess to requirement" pressure tube that runs from my dash to the motor? Do I need to reconfigure any of the connections at the motor?. Note - This tube runs from the dash, and connects to a grey tube (under the cowl) which is t'd off. Also, Smartcraft indicates pressure OK.
At the moment I have simply "plugged" the tube off and tucked it under the dash.

    Cheers for any help!

I don't know if that's the best way or not but it sounds like you did the same thing I did and I haven't had any problem in over 100 hours with mine.

"Out of the Box" new motors have the gray tubing "capped off" with a plug about 1.5 ft. outside of the engine cowling.

As long as you're not "leaking"... I'd say you're ok. If you want to be a little more "careful"... go back to the motor and terminate the hose near the rigging fitting on the lower cowling (port side), or inside the rigging tube (as it is from the factory).

The engine comes configured for Smartcraft Water Pressure from the factory (and has to remain that way to prevent faults).

Thx very much, I think I will re-terminate closer to the engine as suggested. Don, you were correct with my Speed problem also....tube was disconnected as you suspected !

    Cheers
