I bought a boat with an offshore 2.5. I think I was told it was a 93 but bought new in the 98/99 range new. The serial # is 00937248.
From what I can tell is this really a 95?
Any info would be great. What kind of cylinders does this thing have?
I was told it was more like a 260 now and dyno has confirmed it is close. Seems to be a real strong motor. Ive turned it to 7300 once on my first tank of 50:1 mix after 2 double tanks.

Good LUCK. My 2.5's serial number has 7 different models associated with it. From 3 models of 150 a couple of 175's and 200's and 2 different jet units. Merc sure can do some stupid stuff.

Try obtaining an accurate serial number. Your serial number should be formatted as follows:
DIGIT, LETTER, SIX DIGITS (examples: 0D123456, 0G123456, 1B123456)
I'll be glad to look up what info is actually available from an accurate serial number.
