I currently have a 1998 200 Super Mag I just purchased. I have only had stock motor's before with the oil injection still in tact, and have never had to mix gas and oil..I am mixing it 50:1 as I am suppose to, however this motor smokes alot every time I start it and while it is idleing, is this normal?? thanks.
May be the "flavor" of oil your using .. And I hate to break the news BUT after I switched oils to a low ash type ( Less smoke ) I'd increase the oil ratio to 40:1 I never mix a bigger bored outboard ( 3 1/2" bore ) 2.5 less than 3 1/2 oz to a gallon of super unleaded motor gasoline..Try the Penn. blends at Walmart, you see less smoke even at the increased ratio...

Thanks Jay, I will swap brands to see if it works. I did put a lil less oil last time I mixed but figured I'd better not do that again or it could get expensive.....
