    Vibrations when put in gear...

Hey guys... today while out on the water I noticed that my 225 HO had ALOT of vibration when I put it in gear. It was fine at idle, but when I put it in gear it is vibrating alot. I'm not sure what it might be. I checked my prop shaft and it seems to be ok. I just put in new spark plugs the day before, and they were indexed. Can you guys help me out? My motor is a 2003 Evinrude 225 HO...

    Thanks

    Jose

Try this, remove the lower drain plug from the gear case and see if any metal is on the drain plug.

Chunks=money.....lower unit problem.Had the same scenario happen to me but the boat would only accept smalll amounts of throttle before the vibration set in.
What happens when you increase throttle?

Re: Vibrations when put in gear... (FishinIsHeaven)

The vibrations would get worse with more throttle until I gave it so much that I couldn't notice it... I just stared noticing it towards the end of the day... I'm not sure if I was running like that all day or not... but as soon as I notice it I went back to the ramp and went home... will take it in tomarrow...

Could this be covered under warranty?

That would be BRP's call on the warranty but I think if there is no major damage to the prop or gear case that it could be covered.

And if there is major damage to the prop/gearcase your insurance should cover it.
