    Milford Lake

I lived in Manhattan in the late 1990’s and fished Milford Lake a great deal. I have been following the tournaments on milford the past few years on the web. What happened to all the bass? It was never a really great lake but one could at least catch a limit if you worked at it all day. I have noticed very few fish caught in any of the tournaments the past few years. I used to catch some really good smallies on that lake. I will be moving back to Kansas in Aug and was wondering if any one could shed some light on Milford lake for me. I take the KBAA no longer has tournaments in Kansas, as I can't seem to find that web site any longer.

    Thanks,
    Nevada

    Re: Milford Lake (nmbedwell)

KBAA folded up a few years ago, but there is still the jackpot buddy circuit and the Federation buddy T's. Milford peaked about 3 or 4 years ago IMO, although it seemed like the last 2 years the largemouth were starting to come on, but this year has been really bad for any blacks. Weather and high water had it screwed up all Spring and I haven't been out since the beginning of June when it was really tough. There has been an unbelievable number of tourneys there since 2003 and I think it is finally succumbing to the pressure. Just my .02.
