    Question for Jay

O.K. Jay, i need more low end punch and really would not mind a little more top end speed (never heard that before, have ya - LOL?). I have a 1998 Mariner (200 EFI), on a 20 Procraft SP200. Really, like the combo, but it does not come out of the hole as good as i would like. You cut the heads for me last year, and it helped, just want/need more.
Here is my question; should i consider repowering for more HP's (it's rated for a 225)? Or, with out breaking the bank, what else could be done to the motor to get the desired effect? I know that this is somewhat of an opened end question with alot of possibilities, just wanted your thoughts.

    Re: Question for Jay (TBone1963)

    TBone,
There is no magic bullet as far as props. A lower pitch prop will give you more hole shot but might hurt your top end. Also IF your prop is stock I have never seen a box stock prop that couldn't be helped by a REAL prop expert. Also optimize your set up loose all the weight you can from the boat and raise and lower the motor to find your particular hulls sweet spot there is hidden MPH in hull set up and bottom conditioning .
