    Geary State.

Casey and I went to Geary State for a few hours this morning. Guessing we caught around 25-30 LM and 2 saugeyes. All on jigs. Had 2 keepers, one fat dude pushing 3 lbs. All in all, a good day. Pretty windy, so we concentrated on a 300 yard bank. Not sure why, but we couldn't find the bigger fish. I am assuming they'll be moving up shortly. Can't wait for them to get in the buck brush.

Thanks RJ, had a great time, always fun to catch fish on jigs, only a few keepers but even the short's were chubby and put up a good fight

The big ones were probably right there in that area, just a little deeper waiting to move up. Congrats on the numbers

Pottawatomi # 2 out in Manhattan used to be pretty good too when I was stationed out there. Also Ottowa State lake the other side of Salina

I'll bet Pott #2 has seen better days but it still isn't horrible for a few fish. I usually get my boat out there a few times a year.

Pot 2 gets hit really hard by the meat fisherman. You can catch fish out there but it is usually always packed with people wanting to camp and it is hard to get a spot. That and I am awful leery of leaving my truck alone out there after all the dope busts I have seen out there while fishing.

Times change I guess... 10-12 years ago it seemed like there was only 1 or 2 boats on the lake when I would go.

There is still only one or two boats but its the hordes of people littering the shore that make it not as good as back in the old old days when you used to fish it.

I think your right Bob, cause the 2 keepers I caught were out deeper.
