Willy and I went to LaCygne yesterday and since it was my first time on the water since my surgery it was a GREAT day. The wind blew pretty steady and we encountered some pretty steep rollers, but all in all it beat the heck out of staying home and hanging Christmas lights. It was my first trip there so I was amazed at the 72 degree water temp. Early on I caught a short fish and a white bass along the rip rap near the hot water outlet throwing a Persuader Lures Stealth Shad 200 in Pearl Ghost. Later on we found a steeper bank and I caught a 15Â on a Eakins jig and Bill caught a dink on a Pop R. Back out on the main lake in the afternoon it was like being on a roller coaster but Willy managed to catch a nice 18Â fish on the Pop R in the wind. Just before we left I caught a dink of a white bass on a Wiggle Wart. Although we didnÂt load the boat it was good to get out. One of the highlights of the day was seeing two really BIG bucks along the road as we entered the park. The biggest was easily the biggest deer IÂve seen alive in the woods. He had to have had 15-18 inch G2s and G3s.
