    Pond Help

Anyone have any experience with pond problems? Mine are either not catching the water (drainage prob) or not holding the water (leakage prob). Just looking to hear anyone else's experiences with pond problems.

    Thanks in advance,
    Dport

I just think you aren't catching the water.
It's just been to dam dry. Most of the rain we get is sucked in as soon as it hits.
I told Buddy you can go down to one of the well places here in town and buy some bentonite clay to line the areas that are low. then when it comes back up it should hold even better.
Bentonite should work as a sealer to keep the seepage to a minimum.

Pray for a big rain cloud right above your ponds. Then pray to the fishing gods to stock it with 10 pounders

Pretty good advice all around. I've seen that stuff seal up cracks and make a world of difference.

Mine is low too. But it's just do to lack of rain. And what we get is soaked up by the ground.

Thanks to all. Not sure but I will look into the bentonite thing. I just know all the ponds around me are pretty full and my ponds held water fine at one time. For now I may work on making them bigger and then worry about filling them up. I would like to have a bout 10 or so acres to fish. Anybody gets board, come on out and bring your shovel! ha ha

U are probably right. Do you know the current cost of bentonite? I was thinking of digging a holding pond down closer to the ravine and then pumping water up to the ponds. Got lots of clay down close to the ravine.

    Roberts Pump $8.00 per bag
    guessing 80 pound bags.
    .
lot of extra work but you could move some of you clay from one spot to the other.
    lot of extra work!!!!!!!!!!!!1
