Team Evinrude was well represented on the leader
board at the final weigh-in of the FLW’s first major of 2012, which took place this past
weekend. Four Evinrude anglers placed in the top 10, including Anthony Gagliardi (5th), Dan
Morehead (7th), Andy Morgan (9th) and Brett Hite (10th). The tournament, hosted on South
Carolina’s Lake Hartwell, marks a positive start to the season for anglers running the
Evinrude E-TEC engine.
Team Evinrude pro Anthony Gagliardi, who hails from nearby Prosperity, SC, finished with a
total weight of 61 pounds and one ounce to clinch a fifth-place finish. He put the final results
into perspective:
“It’s always nice to do well and make the cut in front of a home crowd where you feel so
much support from the fans and community,” said Gagliardi. “When you consider the caliber
of fishermen on Team Evinrude, it was no surprise to see so many of us place near the top
this weekend. Such a strong finish really builds positive momentum and will help our
confidence as we head to the next major at Table Rock Lake.”
This season, Team Evinrude bass anglers are outfitted with the Evinrude E-TEC 250 H.O.
outboard rigged on Ranger boats. Reliable, durable and environmentally friendly, the
Evinrude E-TEC engine allows both professional and recreational anglers to spend more
quality time on the water.
“We want to congratulate Team Evinrude on a great start to the 2012 season, and look
forward to continued success,” said Krista Heidgerken, Senior Communications Specialist
for Evinrude. “With five more majors to go, plus the FLW Championship on Lake Lanier, we
encourage fans to keep up with Team Evinrude
