I´ve thought they were much more stronger than L1. My friend´s 250 ho had
it´s gearcase gears in pieces with 137 hs . No water or pieces of lines inside. The only strange thing was that air compressed escape with pressure when the
dealer opened it
Did they put the propshaft on V blocks and use a dial indicator to check to see if it was bent at all?

This is not strange at all. When a gearcase is having issues, it will build heat inside and the seals are holding it in. When you open the plug, you are allowing this pressure to release all at once, showering everything within @ 10' diameter. Hope you were wearing old clothes when it happened, cause you won't want to see them again afterwards........Take It From Me!!!!
