1996 Evinrude Intruder 150 Weight Vs. New Motor

I have a 1997 Stratos 282 18'6" with an Evinrude Intruder 150. If I were to purchase a new 150 or 175 4 stroke what is the weight difference going to be and how will it impact my boat?

your motor weighs about 375 lbs. the 150 E-TEC weighs around 418 lbs. - actual weight, not dry. Dry weight for the I4 150 yamaha is 480-ish. the Merc is a tad less. 4-strokes to me are still more sluggish than a 2-stroke. I'd go E-TEC. JMHO
