I voted March just so it would be during my spring break. Any date will probably work.

March. Hmmmmmmm. Brrrrrrrrrr. Wind is relentless out here in March, unless you happen to get lucky and catch the one day of the month it doesn't blow 50. Here's a thought....Have it in the middle of the Summer, say July or August. A lot of tourney circuits don't fish during that time due to fish kills and extreme heat. You can still catch fish and are ensured of good weather, albeit hot. We fish a super fun paper tourney in the morning, quit at 2 pm before we melt, and start drinking from there. Might not interfere with a lot of guys fishing circuits. April, May, June, September, and October are heavy tourney months. My favorite month is May, although April would be if the weather wasn't still fickle. I love the fishing in April, as the bigger fish usually come out and play, but it's hard to beat May for overall fishing and weather both. Just my .02. I would try and make it no matter when we had it, but we should shoot for as much participation as possible. Here are the lakes I suggest: Milford, ElDorado, Melvern, or Big Hill.

You guys probably wouldn't want to venture all the way out to Wilson, but it is smoking right now for smallmouth. My favorite place to fish that is fairly close to me.

If January was that hot think what June through August are going to be like. All the above mentioned lakes would be fine be me.

Yeah, May is cool with me. Hey, here is a thought. Let's have a get together the same weekend as a money tourney. Then whoever wants to can fish the money tourney on Saturday, after the tournament, we get together and camp out and and then on Sunday have a fun "rally" type tourney of our own and then go home Sunday night. You could come out on Friday if you wanted to and pre fish, fish the money tourney, and fish the fun tourney the day after. Kill two birds with one stone. For example, we schedule a get together at Milford the day after the K-State Ahearn tourney on April 30th (Sunday). We just all meet after the tourney on Sat. Afternoon and get ourselves a camping and picnic spot and have some fun that afternoon and evening, go fishing the next day, and have even more fun, and head home Sunday night. How about it?

Note: Our club does this all the time. We schedule our club tourney either the day after a money tourney on the same lake or the week before. This way you are pre fishing it no matter what. I know what you're thinking....the fishing will suck right after a money tourney, but we haven't always found that to be true. Sometimes it's better than the day before. Weather plays a large part.

Hmmmmmmm......Melvern in July. I'm game. You guys will probably kick my butt, cause I don't know the lake, but if there's some smallmouth in there I might have a chance.

    Re: (bigfishingstud)

Well, maybe I should try and get our club to come out to Melvern and fish with your club on the 9th and on the 8th, we could have a little BBC get together and do some pre fishin. Just brainstormin a little, you know.
