Ethanol free fuel

Found this information at puregas.org also found a iphone app "ethanol free". I wish there were more stations listed. Hopefully this is not all of the ethanol free stations in KY. If so I'm sure I've got gas for my boat that has ethanol.

Does anyone know if it has to be posted if the station uses ethanol gas? I always look but don't know if it has to be posted.

if your coming from louisville on I65 none of the gas station in elizabethtown have ethanol in them as far as I know. The law requires a sticker on the pumps stating ethanol content. None here not even E-85 available. Several gas stations at the first e-town exit from louisville. Next exit has a few gas stations also but off and on ramps a little more confusing if not from around here.

When trying to find non ethanol fuel I called the company that is the main supplier where I live. A represenative from Necomb Oil Company told me that the law is they only have to advertise if the ethanol content is over 10%.

The town I live in has 6-7 gas stations. All of them contain ethanol fuel and only 2 stations have a sticker that state "this fuel may contain up to 10% ethanol" ...so no sticker does not mean no ethanol. I did find 2-3 stores in my county with non ethanol fuel but none are located in the city limits.

out of the 10 or so gas stations I have been to in Elizabethtown none have a sticker that says 10% ethanol. I know the few that I have been to in Louisville and other larger cities traveling have the sticker that says 10% ethanol. I'm really sort of suspicious of the gas stations around here if they have ethanol or not. I have asked a few stations when I happened to see a manager type that might actually know what I'm talking about and they have all said no ethanol around here. I'd actually like to try the E-85 in my wifes flex fuel chevy just to say I did but its not available around here. I have heard there is an ethanol tester you can buy some where. Anybody know anything about that? I will buy one if its not too much $ and test a few stations around my house.

by the way, the sticker having to posted by law is something I read on some internet news story so I can't say for sure if that is true here or maybe just in some states. Elizabethtown is what I would call a tiny city so maybe nobody post the sticker because nobody else has yet

ok people its christmas and I'm doing gas testing expirements in my shed My family lives in CA and my wifes in FL and daughter is at ex-inlaws house and I am bored.....So I google ethanol testing come up with this .. I take some gas out of my mower which is 93 octane because my wifes car takes 93 and i took it to the gas station last time I filled up my gas jug for mower .My boat has a buch of startron and stabil in it so I didnt test it. (yet) Here are a few pics of my expirement.

I marked the water line before I added the gas. The picture is of the bottle right after I added the gas before shaking it up. Looks a little cloudy under the line but thats it.

Clearly you can see the water line rose after I shook it up and let it settle for a beer lenghts time....Now this really pisses me off because none of the pumps in Elizabethtown are labeled ethanol and all this time I beleived I have been using ethanol free gas in my boat Of course all my expirement really proves is that my mower has ethanol gas in it from the BP by my house. But I'm still pizzed..I have lost all faith in mankind and my christmas spirit
